Jeep has built a reputation around rough and rugged SUVs that can handle any adventure, whether it’s off-road or on. Now, the American automaker is poised to carve out a legacy in a new segment: the performance pickup truck. Enter the 2020 Jeep Gladiator.

What To Expect From the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Design

The new Jeep Gladiator is a vehicle with a whole lot of body — when you want it. The doors, windshield, and roof can be removed and stowed in the truck bed or garage to lighten your load and bring you closer to the experience.

Removable panels aren’t the only transformative features of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. There is also a 5’ cargo bed with a sprayed-in bedliner and 3-position tailgate, cover, trail rails for gear, a waterproof power outlet, and a rear towing camera which gives you more adventure support than ever.

You wouldn’t expect an off-roader like the Gladiator to be too concerned with its interior, but that wasn’t neglected by Jeep. There are average comforts like leather wrappings, dual-zone temperature control, and heated steering and seats, but it’s the more thoughtful touches that drivers will love. It’s the removable Bluetooth® speakers, forward facing TrailCam with tire lines on the infotainment center, and the rear back-up cam with trailer hitch zoom that lets you connect and control everything from your phone.

Performance

The new Gladiator is just as much of a road warrior as its imposing build would imply. It employs a high intake to let you cross easily through streams. It also boasts more than 11” of ground clearance, Trailer Brake Control, and a legendary Rock-Trac® 4×4 system with an 84:1 crawl ratio.

All of the above are powered by a 3.6L V6 base engine that puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.

Safety

Blind spot monitoring, Full-Stop Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure, Park Assist, Rear Traffic Detection, and Collision Warning are just a few of the available safety features out of the 80 packed into the 2020 Jeep Gladiator.

Other than the steel chassis, which deflects impact energy away from passengers, the Gladiator is also built with thicker tubes and forgings than the average truck. An electronic sway bar, Fox shocks, and locking differentials are all part of the mix.
